Are Longer noses automatically healthier?

There are many successful and healthy short-nosed athletes

there are many short nosed bostons who have scored a perfect "0" on their BOAS testing (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome)

As BOAS testing through OFA trained specialists becomes more available, we expect to see a large percentage of Grade 0 (the best grade) BOAS tests. The Boston Terrier is an overall healthy Brachycephalic breed.
There's much more to it than just length of nose...
There are many different parts to the airway that determine how healthy it is.
A long nosed dog can still have stenotic nares and an elongated soft palate. These issues are most common in brachycephalic breeds of course, but not all brachycephalic dogs have airway issues or even slightly compromised airways. And long nosed brachycephalic dogs can also have these issues. One of the top researchers at Cambridge has stated that you cannot tell the health of an airway from the outside of the dog. So, you absolutely cannot just look at the nose length and tell if the dog can breathe. Likewise you cannot just breed a long nose and cure airway issues. It's more complicated than that. But reputable breeders are always striving for better health, including better airways.
